This is basically all my feels about Amy’s treatment, and one of the main reasons why seasons 5 and 6 aren’t exactly my favorite.

She’s such a vibrant, quick-thinking person, but she completely lacks agency over her own life. Things happen to her, and she isn’t even afforded the opportunity to save herself. (I’m speaking generally, as compared to previous companions)

Honestly I love Amy and Rory as individual characters but I think his inclusion as a companion completely crippled her development. I would’ve either preferred that Rory be a more Mickey-esque character in his involvement, or, IDK, that Moffat would learn how to give women shit to do even when there are men around to “save” them.
